Selima is a gift, literally!

June 20, 2017 we received a visit from friend and colleague breeder Suzanne Versluis. She had brought a very special present. A moving notice from Selima of Kymaya's Place, and that she will be moving to us at 13 weeks. I had to read it a few times before I understood what it said. A beautiful cat who will join our cattery, what a wonderful gift! This wonderful gesture toucht so many facets of our life at that time. As a support and a helping hand after all the bad luck, costs and grief we have known in recent years and as an incentive to continue to see the future of our cattery positive. Thank you sweet Suzanne (and Hans), you know what it means to us!

In between, we naturally went to see our future smurf, but we still had to be patient.

August 20, 2017 was the day, Suzanne and Hans came to bring Selima and that was also on our wedding day!
A super beautiful, sweet, confident, people-oriented cat. If you look at her she already starts to purr. She also loves to lie on your lap and cuddle.

In the first week already made friends with the necessary cats and from day one with Fleur (the Chihuahua). The bouncing Australian Shepherd puppy named Biscuit takes a bit more time ;-) but that's not without reason, puppy Biscuit is so unpredictable. As long as you keep an eye on the pup, everything will be fine.

We are very happy with this unprecedented sweet gift and also very curious about how it will develop further. And of course in a while what kind of nice kittens she will bring into the world.

14-06-2018 little kittens will grow up, so time for her first HCM, PKD and CIN test, everything looked good and healthy. The additional DNA tests are also in, and everything is fine. So in a while she can go an a date with a nice male.

She is now good friends with Biscuit and they regularly lie together in 1 basket.
Selima had 2 litters with us and turned out to be a sweet mother.

December 2020:
Selima is a very sweet and affectionate cat. She likes to be with you and on your lap, likes to cuddle and also comes to get hugs from you. Unfortunately we had to decide to find a new home for her.
Due to a disrupted relationship between her and Blue where Selima is no match for Blue, Selima is under a lot of stress. As soon as there is food , Selima has no problems with Blue, she is just assertive and can also push Blue aside if she wants to join something. But beyond that she already blows when she sees Blue and pulls back (something that arose after a first assult) and Blue likes to jump on top of her, which of course is not fun at all! Outside the situation with Blue Selima is a stable sweet cat.

Stress is neither good nor fun, but neither is it good for the immune system. This is also noticeable after the last vaccination of Selima where she suffers from sneezing and a full nose (cat flu, although Selima does not have a dirty snot nose with crusts or inflamed eyes due to cat flu). We hope that a quiet environment without other cats will give her more resistance as well as joy and happyness. So much so that she gets rid of the sneezing symptoms and stays off.

A nice new home has been found for her with the Van Ekeris family. Although saying goodbye also had a sad side for us, we are very happy for Selima and the family that they found each other.
